‘CYCLING TO WORK’ - A BIKE RIDE WITH HEART
L-Acoustics’ Sale Manager, Tim McCall has raised an incredible £1,759 by cycling a ‘theoretical’ route to work during lockdown. Starting at L-Acoustics’ HQ in Marcoussis to each of the other companies in the L-Acoustics Group, the journey involved around 2,000km and 8,000m of ascent/climbing. Tim did this fundraiser in addition to working his normal daily hours.
“If you have ever been to watch a show or concert chances are all you will see are the bright lights, all you will hear are the songs and you will go home energised and happy. To make these shows happen there is an army of people sound engineers, lighting crew, staging crew, video teams, catering staff, stage hands, security, truck drivers, merchandise sellers, venue staff. The bigger the show, the bigger the infrastructure to make it happen, and the bigger the backstage army in place. Night after night, day after day, they work in small teams, overcoming numerous inevitable problems, against a ticking clock to make sure you enjoy your show. These are the people who live and breathe the motto “The show must go on”.
As there are no shows currently, many of this global family are helping society combat C-19 by helping create emergency facilities, donating communications expertise or working in food and medical supply logistics, many are facing severe financial hardship. This effort is for them.”
