The Original Live Production Welfare and Benevolent Fund
Founded by PSA Members
Live production is in crisis. The events we service have, in reality, been outlawed.
The original aim of Stagehand was to raise and distribute funds to those handful of people who, though no fault of their own, perhaps through illness or injury, are unable to work and earn money.
Our workforce is largely self employed, so no work means no money. Stagehand is now faced with an enormous task, our whole workforce is unable to work. As Governemt support is withdrawn, our people are facing a winter gap in earnings of around £60m. That's just the self employed; it's predicted that half of our employed workers will be made redundant by October.
If you've ever enjoyed a show, an exhibition, a convention or a conference, they are enabled by the skilled technicians, coordinators and managers that need your help.
